Another Tuesday Party Club adventure - This time we took a 1 1/2 hour, horseshoe-style ferry ride from Haeundae beach around the Oryuk-do Islands. Oryuk-do means "five, sometimes six islands." All of the islands are pretty small, so I'm guessing one gets covered by water every once in a while. I tried to count and I only saw 5. Hm.....

The ferry was really cool. The weather was chilly, but perfect. The best part about the cruise was that there were dozens of birds that followed the boat. An older Korean couple pantomimed to us before we got on that we should buy these fish flavored crackers at the wharf. We did, and boy were we glad! You could hold a cracker in your hand, and the birds would hover right above you before swooping down and grabbing it from your fingers. There was a lot of yelping and shrieking from all of us, which was pretty hilarious. The Koreans loved doing it too, so we all stood on the top deck of the ferry and fed the birds.

On the way back, we saw some creatures bobbing in and out of the water. Our best guess was that they were seals, but I've never seen any on land. My co-worker thinks it might have been a whale! Maybe it the was the Loch Ness Monster. The picture is ambiguous enough, isn't it?!
