Fan Death: A Deadly Fact

This blog is about Fan Death, a serious epidemic in South Korea that will kill you in your sleep. It is unquestionably believed that an electric fan, if left on overnight in a closed room, can cause fan death by suffocation, poisoning, or even hypothermia to whomever is unlucky enough to fall asleep in such a deadly environment.

The Korea Consumer Protection Board (KCPB), a branch of the SK government, stated in 2006 that "asphyxiation from electric fans and air conditioners" was among South Korea's five most common seasonal summer accidents or injuries. As such, South Korea does not produce fans without self timers, which Koreans are encouraged to set before going to bed. Otherwise, the fan will chop up all the oxygen particles in the air, leaving only CO2, or could literally suck the oxygen from a person's body.

Please don't take this lightly- It could mean the end of life as you know it.
