Christmas in the A
Sorry for the delay folks, things got pretty fun and fabulous and I just didn't have time to blog. :)
I went to Atlanta for Christmas! It was such a great trip and I am so thankful for all the time I had with family and friends. Yes, it was a bit strange being home again - it's quite a bit different than what I'm used to, especially the temperature! My God it was COLD! I had to learn all about layering again! On the other hand, it felt exactly like home, and therefore entirely comfortable. It sure was nice to have running water again though.
I was home from December 22-January 2. Whirlwind trip, as it were. The night I arrived we had a Mexican fiesta at the house with the whole family. Boy did I miss Mexican food! It pretty much set a precedent for the rest of the trip- eat and drink and eat some more. I came with a list of food I wanted to eat and I did a pretty number on it! I
enjoyed several dinner's out with friends, and a especially great one with the fam again at The Iberian Pig, including cousin Brandon! Brandon is living and teaching in Spain right now, so he was very patient to give us his advice on the menu items. I have to say, it may be my new favorite restaurant. And don't get me started on Christmas dinner...nom nom nom.
I also came home with a list of all the cheesy Christmas stuff I wanted to accomplish and I made my sister swear to me that her little girls would be available for most of it! I decorated the Christmas tree, made a horribly tacky gingerbread house, went Christmas shopping multiple times, went driving to look at Christmas lights, went to the Stone Mountain Christmas village, ate a candy cane....I know, I was just a bundle of
Christmas spirit! Missing the last 2 at home really made me want to experience everything, and it was well worth it. We also had a Christmas miracle -- SNOW! WOW I felt like a kid, so giddy from the excitement! I mean, if it's gonna be cold, might as well snow! For a day, anyway.
New Year's was a blast as well. I went up to Athens with some of my best buddies - Mary, Carolyn, Joseph, and Lauren, and we went to a great concert - the band Of Montreal. It was basically a dance party all night! So nice to visit Athens, I miss it so!
I was able to see most everyone I could, if only for a short visit. I am a bit sad I couldn't see all the people I wanted, and that I could only see some of them just once! If only I had more time.
If you'd like to see more pictures of the break, check out my album on facebook. If you're not my friend, this public link should work:
