I'm a Bomber

Today was a good day. Heck, every day is a good day. Yes, I realize I've only been here 4 days. Hush now.

Brittany and I woke up and went down to Gwangali Beach. There are some cool sculptures dotting the coastline and of course, Brittany about peed her pants. We wandered and watched Korean children scream and run through the surf, and saw several old men lounging and fishing. Very relaxing. Then we found a tiny little restaurant off the main strip and ate incredible food. It was really only chicken and vegetables, but man do they work magic on it. Pleasant surprise since we were the only diners there.

Then I met my manager Jessica and her friend and they took me to my new flat! It's only a three minute walk from Brit's, which is fantastic. I took some pictures, but somehow I managed to bring everything in the world except my computer jack and since it died 4 hours after I got here, I can't load them yet. I realize this makes me a disappointment. Sorry. But the apartment is very small and cute. About the size of a bedroom, with a tiny kitchen and bathroom attached. I had to take pictures of all the surrounding buildings so I would be able to find it again. Sad, I know.

My Korean manager's friend, I forget her name, told me I had a sweet voice (I think she meant "high") and then told me she had some Korean gentleman in mind for me. We shall see how that pans out. Haha. I wandered around some, trying to make sure I could find my apartment from all sorts of directions, and ended up at a bus stop. 5 little old ladies stood there and I said hello to them. Then, the tiniest one approached me and handed me a mint. Kind of like a reward for a dog who has learned a new trick.

I also went to a grocery store today. Apparently we are NOT supposed to drink the water. So I bought some lemonade. And cereal. Considered buying a dust pan, but then thought, eh- enough time for that later. Said please instead of thank you. Sigh.

Spent the evening organizing my apartment and met Brittany for dinner. It was in the subway that I had my first experience with a bomber style toilet. As in, there's a hole in the floor that you squat over. I also had to buy toilet paper. I do believe I can now conquer the world.

Capped off the night with dinner and drinks in Seomyeon, a large, neon-lights crazy part of town that is bursting with energy. It sure has been great going to different parts of the city each night. Alright kids, more later.
